Have there been any 2012 SC clutch failures ?

Yes, another SC clutch failure thread.

It seems the the 2012 skis are now using an updated SC clutch and idler gear. (there are now 3 versions of the clutch)

So the question is, has anyone had a SC failure on a 2012 ski?

I met someone the other day on the bay who has a 2012 and broke it with 26 or 29 hours, I forget which.

Philip, This was a running change in mid year 2012 production skis. So only the very late 2012 will have the new clutch/gear set up in them. Only 2012 serial numbers "Higher" than on this list will come with the new gear set, `09~12 FZR up to Primary ID # F2R806400
`09~12 FZS up to Primary ID # F2C808500
`08~12 FX SHO up to Primary ID # F2S803100 Remember your 2012 ski serial # must be higher than this to have the latest gear /idler set. Tommy Jordan

Are these new clutches significantly better than the previous ones?

Where would this serial number be located?
