How reliable are the stock superchargers on the Yamaha 4-stroke skis?

I have a VXS which as you know has no supercharger. I've had SC'ed SeaDoos in the past starting with the very first ski they put them on and then a few after that. Early on we had a ton of failures with them and finally got the metal washers down the road and then it was just a matter of getting them rebuilt every 75-100 hours to maintain boost levels and reliability.

Do the Yamahas have anything like that? I see people talk about Riva dampeners and blow off valves and Gen 1-3 designs, etc. I'm wondering what the state of the Yamaha SC reliabilty at that point is in general. How reliable is the stock clutch? Are there aftermarket products that improve reliability? What is the ongoing maintenance of them?

The clutch has been the weqk point.
    Some like the gear dampener,
Some like getting the oem idler gear lightened and balanced instead.
With the late 2012 change next year should be interesting to see how it holds up.
I would definetly get the idler gear modded.
I am still running with the 1st generation clutch.

    I agree ^^^^
Another thing to keep in mind with Yamaha's S/C is it does fine with the stock ski's. We really dont see many problems entill the boost level starts getting raised.
If I remember right, S/D's chargers were crapping out on bone stock ski's.
