Mount the waterbox "higher" than the pipe outlet..

Wonder what will happend if I mount the waterbox higher than the exhaustpipe end.. what will happend with the water, will it work?

Why I´m asking is because I have to do this procedure
to make it fit in my project boat.

I do not think it will be an issue as long as the waterbox remains level and the outlet is on the upper half of the waterbox. The box is chambered inside and requires exhaust pressure to force the water out. you still want the hose to go up a little then down so when you back off the throttle water does drain back into the box from the outlet side.

another note is that you do not want it higher than your exhaust outlet from the motor as this will allow water from the box to drain back in your motor.

he doesnt have any room to work with. i think that if it is higher than the motor, water will run back into the exhaust below the waterbox. i would have a waterbox cut down to fit. or aftermarket ones might be smaller. plenty of sea doo guys have theirs cut and made smaller

    Thank guys for you answers!

Yes SUCKMYWAKE got i right, I don´t have room for to mount them below the last outlet of the pipe, I has to placed "over" it..
But the only thing that could happend I think is for the water to run back just to the end of the exhaust outlet and that can´t be any problem?

osidebill: And yes I have seen that they are making waterboxes smaller.. but why? to get less backpressure or what?, I want to fit them as they are first.. So I know that I haven´t reduced the engines power somehow..

This is how it looked in the beginning of the project!.. as you can see there are no space for the Waterbox, I have to mount it just next to the outlet..

    Cool

Since you’ve done such a great fabrication job so far you could build something square and flat to fit the envelope you have

    later cd

    Cool

I was just think yes, you could make up something
if I were going to fab, fill stock water box with water (get volume) then try to match from there ,also cut in open stock water box to see baffles ( you can use less but may have to inject water to tune adj back pressure with water should not be much liter per min max at 5000 rpm base line
Not to much rocket since like I‘ve said in past this thing should jump out of water
