2011 fzr supercharger wheel has play

my 2011 fzr is down 3-4 mph i just put a new prop and wear ring in after having something stuck pretty bad and im still down on speed.im checking over everything all hoses and clamps are on good so cant be a boost leak i noticed the supercharger wheel spins free the one way and theres about a quarter inch of play going the other way where i would think it should be tight is this normal or maybe a sign the clutch is starting to go?

I may be wrong but that sounds normal to me.

If the wheel turns both ways at all your clutch is getting ready to pop.
It should not move at all in one direction.
Did you notice a rpm drop.
The first time my clutch went out i noticed that on the trailer it did not seem to rev up as fast.
Then on next time i had it on the water it went out about 80 miles into the endurance race i was in.

When u turn it the way it spins free then go back there seems to be a alittle play then stops Rpms aren't down much

Not sure if you're running one of the SCs that drops teeth when it fails, but by catching it early you may have saved yourself an engine pull.

Sounds to me like it's on the way out - that's too much play. If it were me I'd park it and leave until I had time to remove it for a visual inspection.

The clutch should lock instant you should not be able to turn the other way, sounds like you have a broken cage in the sprag assembly.
