    Need help with 04 rxp carbon ring

    So changed the wear ring and everything in the ski. Still cavitates. Been hearing to change the carbon ring. We're and what is it. Any one have any diagrams on it on how to change it? And what else might be needed. Any help would be great thank u

    Look where the drive shaft comes in the hull there you going to see a rubber boot. Inside the boot theres your carbon ring. To replace you have to push a the metal collar in front back toward tha back of the ski, once you have the collar back a little you going to see a half moon looking pin remove that and now you can remove the shaft, pump and carbon ring. Good luck!! Drink a lot of beers while at it!! That will help with the frustration!!

    you'll also want to change the rubber bellows boot that the carbon ring sits in, the o rings in the top hat collar, that c clip. and the driveshaft bumper plug. If your top hat is corroded I would suggest replacing it as well. some have put rubber o rings in the creases on the bellows as well to help reduce cavitation or get the speedfreeks bellows band.

    Thanks guys appreciate the help. Ordered a drive shaft rebuild kit has the ring o rings half moon thing and the things that goes with carbon ring. I'll order a bellow also. Take it I have to take the whole seat off and does it from inside the motor?

    You'll need to pull the pump and take off the seat cowling to have enough room to see what your doing

    Make shure you pull the pump after removing the c clip!

    yes remove the c clip first cos the shaft moves when the pump is not there
