    Cleaning and rejetting carbs on 01 GP1200R Questions

    Just looking to find out what size jets i need to go with. I have done a few mods to the ski but not much. It has Riva heads running 145-150psi and riva S3 Stinger. Does anyone know what size rebuild kit I need to go with? This?? http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=969

    jets 110 pilots, 120 mains, dull silver pop off spring, 1.5 needle and seat, remove accelerator pump, 1 1/2 turns out on lows, 2 turns out on highs.

    How hard are the carbs to rebuild and rejet? I have rebuilt the motor in it so I have some mechancial skill but carbs have always scared me since that is the life blood of the motor and it is wrong it can go BAD.

    With carbs already out of ski it should take about four or six hours to rebuild your first time. Get your new jets, N&S & springs and get to it. You need to disable the accel pump, too. All the help you need is right here.

    Your airbox can be used, but you'll never get to the T-handles again ( you need those! )
    Go with podfilters so you can tune your carbs correctly

    ( guess how i found out )

    [QUOTE=Julian;1995878]Your airbox can be usedQUOTE]

    This would be incorrect. You must go aftermarket intake with your mods.

    I too was affraid to touch the carbs but thanks to the many posts here and how toos they made me feel better. I tried it and i would say it turns out pretty good. Follow all steps and take your time. You can do it. The best part is you get a better understanding of your motor than you would have and has tought me to not worry so much about working on carbs.

    Hello all, i´m just new to the site .
    I´m planning to do a carb rebuild, id a search but couldn´t find a answer for my setup.
    Engine mods:
    aftermarket K&N air filters
    installed D-Plate
    running premix
    compression 118-120 psi
    Stock fuel pump still present ,thinking of removing the pump but at later stage.
    Can someone advise me the correct jet size for my setup so i can order those with the rebuild kits.
