    4-TEC case question

I have an 05RXP that has a busted off chunk to the left of the timing chain guide. I believe it to be an "L" shaped chunk molded to the case with the purpose of serving as a brace for timing chain guide. I can get a replacement case for free from the shop I bought this from but my question is...do I need the top or bottom of the case to get the section with this brace in it? Also, are these similar to 2 strokes where it is not recommended to mix case halves? P.s. I don't know Crap about these 4strokes.

My suggestions in red. I would never mix cases unless you can get them lined bore checked so you know they match. But then still.....I dunno. JMO.
