Cool Run premix or no??? Please help!!!

Hello everyone just wanted to know if it would be better to switch over to premix in my 94 sl 650. Everyon else seems to be doing it but i want a couple of peoples opinions. And if anyone can explain how to do it that would be very helpful too.

Who is everyone else? The general theme is to keep the oil injection.

It's up to you..... The oil pump on these machines are reliable. However, the oil lines and fittings/connections have caused heartache for some owners. If you go premix, you will use more oil than with the injection. If you check your oil lines regularly, and ensure that they are always attached and in good condition while riding, the direct injection works fine. Some prefer to not risk oil lines failing and falling off by premixing. Completely up to you. IF you want to premix, there are a bunch of kits on ebay for around $15.....They are all pretty much the same.

If you do go premix, you may need to fatten them up a little. Check you piston wash and go from there....

The best time to do the block off how ever is if the engine is out of the ski. While it can be done, the oil pump is extremely difficult to take out with it all assembled. I had to fatten up the highs about a 1/10 of a turn and it was dead on, probly could of ran it as is, but i like to keep things fat as gas and plugs are cheaper then engines. Given that you will use a little more fuel, it has barely been noticeable between my blaster and sl and you then have the peace of mind in knowing that you have oil going to it.

The pumps are reliable for the most part, i removed it from my blaster because the tank cracked and leaked out all of the oil and came about a minute of riding from running dry. As for the polaris, I removed it when something wacked out and dumped the entire tank of oil into the motor and hydrolocked the engine with a gallon of oil, at that point it was clear that it needed to be done, and i was going to spend the money on a pump to only have to wory again.

Its a personal opinion, but i just dont trust them

I'm new here, but I like the oil injection because:
-It varies the amount of oil so it is more efficient
-It means the wife can take the ski out without me and if she decides to fill it up someplace she doesn't have to remember the oil or do any math.

I used the 1/8" yellow tygon tubing common on Ebay and honestly it is hard to pull off the barbs even without the clamps on.
