    Carb rebuild - help!

I'm rebuilding my first carb - off a 2002 Freedom. In the rebuild kit there are two thin translucent plastic pieces that look like they are meant to be used in the fuel pump. When I disassembled it there is only one thin piece in there. Any idea what the other piece is for? Different carb maybe? Am I supposed to use both?

    Thanks for any help!

    Steve

I'm guessing they are the "anti-siphon"
Are there 2 steel plates below the low and mid jet areas in the carb body ?

    Good morning,

    Thank for the replies!

Here is a pic of the carb kit. The top arrow shows the thin plastic piece that I mentioned. It appears to be an exact duplicate of the one next to it. I think the smaller pieces (anti-siphon seems reasonable) that were used near the jets I was able to figure out. The lower arrow shows an o-ring that also appears to be "extra". Any idea if those should be used or if they are indeed extra parts that could be used in a different model?

    Thanks again,
    Steve

suppose to be one each on one side of the rubber pump gaskets.one acts as the diaphragm for the pulse the other as a wall between the pump and carb body itself.the o-ring style gasket on the bottom is for a 2 jet metering block which you don't have.it's not needed

The Polaris manual has this showing where it goes - Is this piece supposed to be doubled or are you saying it would go on the right (carb) side of the gasket?

    Thanks for the help,
    Steve

PS - just reread your post, I see one on each side of the gasket. I just don't remember taking two out of there... I have enough problems with "spare" parts at the end of a project without help from the supplier!!

that picture is correct.the other one goes inside the half of the pump you probably didn't take apart that uses the other rubber gasket like that one in the pic
