Need help choosing a New Doo!

Hey guys I am new to this forum and have a couple questions about seadoos.

I am looking at 2 different skis:

2004 GTX Wakeboard Edition with 44.5 hours. Engine bay looks clean and was lubed after each use. The owner said it has been sitting for 3 years but the gas was drained/ refilled and new battery installed.

Does it hurt 4 strokes to sit that long? What should I be looking out for?

2006 RXT- I am a little weary about getting this ski due to the SC issues. Any advise is appreciated.

    Thank you!

If the 04 is 185 hp, then its SC'd as well. Valves get rusty from sitting, and tend to break on that year.
The 06' will have the better valves in the head already, and not too prone to delamination of the hull, like the 04-05's did.
I would rebuild the charger on either one for piece of mind, to make sure there are no Ceramic washers in either one of them.(bad)

Just got off the phone with the owner of the RXT and it has 150 hours and the S/C has NOT been rebuilt....

    GTX is N/A.

    Thanks

If it's Like this one? Then its a 155 hp. Still all 04-05' 4-tecs had weaker valves, that were prone to failure. I would change them out ASAP to be on the safe side.

Nice Ski! I see a lot of good testimonials on the 155-hp 4-tek (they last as rentals as well) and talked to a few Dealers about them, the only problems they had was with the plastic pump versions. I see the wake addition uses an aluminum pump housing.

Don't rush. There are many good deals out there right now. Since the ski has been sitting for so long I too would be concerned about exhaust valve corrosion. That one seems a bit high in price.
