Polaris brother rlovebk wins class in 2012 LB2Cat

Well don't get you hope up as he was not on a his beloved Polaris LOL, but Rod came through with a 1st place finish in the Sportsman Class in this past Sunday's 2012 Long Beach to Catalina & Back race. The Sportsman is a 1st time entry Class for those new to racing with a lower entry cost, but get this Rod also scored a Top Ten finish!

He's been doing good losing over 30 lbs during the last year and thought it was time for to complete a bucket-list item for his life, he piloted a Kawasaki Ultra 300LX borrowed from a friend who insisted that he ride it over his Kawi 15f

Coming in to the finish line (the finish line is within the 'normal' no wake zone, so Rod with trying to maintain a 'legal' speed, just part of the first time race stuff HA!

Rod after the race, he should get the award for best trunks!

That's bigger news than winning his class.

Thank you Pirate and all the Polaris brothers out there.

Polaris Hilton is sitting. I have to pull the motor and get the crank to Sharps or? and build 'er up. Still my favorite.

To be honest 2 things have a factor in this ski being down so long:

    1. Think of all of that gas that rebuilding that SLT costs when I have been riding year round lately.

    2. Too busy riding .

I may end up doing a conversion but not sure. Anyways it is on for this coming year. I will get 'er going as I need a 3rd ski. (it's really #1, just doesn't like to run, er, uh, lean, thats it)

This race was a load of fun. Great sponsors, great people, and I really enjoyed it. Offshore racing is tough. But it is a HOOT! The start of the race was one of the coolest experiences of my life.

Here's a good pic. If your a Polaris guy and don't know who this is you need to...

Pirate is telling my daughter Sheila about the time he won the LB 2 Cat N/A Class on a Polaris Matrix. Best pic of the day...

Pirate may or may not know this but a few years ago I was talking with him, Dubz, and I think it was Mark Gerner and he say's "Do you realize you are standing talking with 3 National Champions"? I'm thinking to myself okay and what does that have to do with myself, (Mr. Rec. Rider). Little does he know, (or maybe his calculation was just that) that he lit a fire under my arse right then. And the result was this:

Thank you Pirate for the inspiration, the example, and most of all for being a trully great friend. I did it, but you started it
    Thank you!

We are having a contest to see who can take the longest to get their Polaris ski going.
