    battery question

My 3 year old Yusa battery on my FZR was reading 11.7v sitting and 13.8 under load. I thought 11.7 was a touch low so I put it on a charger for 5 hours and added some distilled water because it was low. Now the battery has a little bulge on the sides..... I assume from overcharging. Any damage from this? The ski runs 100% fine.

Time for a new battery. When mine did that it vented acid through the vent hose and ruined the decals on the back of my ski. It was a short time later when it left me stranded on the water. Got this replacement: http://www.batterymart.com/p-odyssey-pc625-battery.html

could be sulfides, (<I think) plates breaking down, but bulging is no good anyways. Mike chuck that liquid acid battery in the recycle yard.
Deka FTW... or see what is in the online store...

Sounds good all, thanks for the tips. With my work, the skis go into storage on labor day so I'll pick up a new battery at the beginning of next season.

Where is the best place to get the deka agm and what kind? Found some online but there are several different kinds. Also the one on here seems to be similar but is it the same thing/better/worse? There's nothing worse than a junk battery.
