    My polaris sl650.. And its many problems.

    Guys i need some serious help ive been going insane with this damn machine. Got it for 200 bucks with trailer purchased 400 bucks worth of upgrades including gaskets all carbs rebuilt triple output fuel pump new starter motor and bendix and i need to replace the black wire that runs from the elec. box to the stator... Will put ohms readings in post below. So i have the whoke motor apart and noticed excessive slop in the crank closest to where you insert the drivesshaft. New bearing or???? Idk and also noticed that the motor wont turn with top end off i hope this is normal.

    Red/Purp to yellow 001
    white/yel to black 220 ohms/no beep
    blue/red to red/white 90 ohms
    red/white to green/red 497 ohms/ no beep

    Thats what i got.

    If by "top end" you mean jugs, pistons, and heads, what do you mean by "motor won't turn"

    Yep everything and the crank case is seperated from where the jugs are mounted. And now when i turn the part that the the driveshaft goes into it wont turn. I think its because i dont have the top part on. I will have to see once i start reassembly

    Is the motor out or still in the hull? Stuck, frozen pump maybe, if still in the hull.

    Nope its not even in the ski. It used to spin fine! Very smooth and now that i took that top piece off it doesnt spin. Im going to put top piece back on tommorow i think it will spin then...

    That's odd. Should spin with jugs off, with pistons off, even with top half of crankcase off......

    What do you mean by top piece? Just the heads or jugs as well?
    But either way if it doesn't turn now, you can be sure it won't turn with top pieces back on. Chances are you may have dropped something inside (through intake side) and jammed it up. Since engine is already out, if I were you I would just completely disassemble it for a thorough inspection.
