getting the modded vx plate dialed in

my fzr currently has minor boltons im sure with more power/speed it will change the ride. with no shim at all i get a pretty bad bounce over 60 mph ive tried 60thousands(2 fender washers on each side of the rear of the plate}still some bounce and reduces speed slightly i notice the plate sits much higher then the transom plate should i try shimming the front down some im wondering if that big step is causing some of the bounce?

In the VXR ride plate thread you said that with the Riva grate and the stock plate with no shims, there was no bounce on your ski. Are you saying that after getting the Jim mod done on your plate, the ski bounces "pretty bad" past 60 MPH?

I found that if you add washers to the front of the plate it will reduce that high speed bounce, BUT on my ski it made it handle horrible in the chop. The ski was always trying to bounce out of the water with the additional angle added. Last time I was out I added a fender washer to the front of the plate to decrease that step you mentioned and then two in the back. It seemed to help out a bunch.

I actually picked up some speed but just because I wasn't able to hold the ski without shims wide open for long enough to get the best speed because of that damn bounce. The ski went 80.7 in 100 degree heat with an ET Low boost wheel on that setup.
