I notice the top 20% of my throttle lever pull, does very little...any experience...

Just made a few changes to the XLT1200, as of now its: Riva heads @ 150, S2 stinger, Free flow, Nujet 6.0, and R&D rideplate, chokes removed, also AF Flame arrestors, rejetted according to Oside Bill's directions. Runs great. But i did notice one thing when i had it out yesterday.

I reach peak speed at about 3/4 of the full throttle sweep. I can continue to pull the throttle lever in to the bar, but no increase in speed or RPM. The sound of the engine does change slightly with that last squeeze, it drops a bit in tone, if that make any sense. I assume the butterfly is opening a bit more, which changes the sound, but I'm getting nothing else out of it.

Is this pretty normal, or a symptom of something else. Still working the bugs out of the mods, hope this is one of them. I checked the cable and connections, seems tight, no issue.

Maybe a little high speed screw adjustment will help

    Hmmm.

Okay, well I mounted a tiny tach up temporarily this afternoon , and gave it a try. I hit 6970 once or twice, but it mostly topped out about 6930. The rpms made no change above 3/4 throttle even though the sound changes a bit.

Should I try to lean or richen the high speed screws.

I assuming that this is a process of turn maybe a 1/16th, then do a run or two, if rpms are higher turn a bit more, if not, go the other way, and repeat until rpms begin to drop.

Well, I figured with the heads, pipe, carb mods, and free flow, I'd want the 6.0. Any idea what the pitch on a Nujet 6.0 really is? How can I grow into the impeller? A few other mods that would help?
