Hi everyone, I have a 2000 Ultra 150. I was thinking about putting a 36 cc heads with stock carbs. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this a problem?? thank you

In addition to having the carbs reconfigured, you will need to run 110 octane fuel.

Ok I have 48mm novi carbs. So If 36 cc heads are too much for pump gas and 42 cc heads are running low on compression (140 psi) any thoughs on what would still be safe. I would like around 150 psi of compression but 110 octane fuel is a serious pain. Thanks for the advice.

You will not want to go beyond the 42 heads when using premium "pump gas" (minimum 91 octane). If you do, you will burn a hole through the center of one or more pistons and it happens FAST. It will only take around 10 minutes (or less) to do it.

If you want to stay with pump gas you don't want to go smaller than 42cc. If you're getting some hours on your motor could you possibly gain alittle from a fresh set of rings if they aren't sealing as well as they used to?
