Stainless v. Plastic Wear Rings

Which should I use? I am mostly in saltwater. Obviously, stainless sounds good because I don't have to take the pump off as often.

How often do you normally change your wear ring?

Stainless you only get one shot if you suck in a rock. It will wreak your impeller. Plastic you get a second chance if it is not to big.
