    Hillys Hurricane

Hi Guys, finally got initial cleanup of the Hurricane done, came up ok but a bit more scrubbing to do, polish up and detail the engine bay a bit. Only mods so far are a set of Hotseat Domes (wasnt much of an increase in compression over stock), choke plates removed and primer fitted, custom watercooled bearing/seal carrier mod, oil injection removed, nozzle bored to 86mm. Ordered adaptor for Factory Pipe, on its way. 1st up i need to replace all the rubber fuel lines, might strip and check carbs, then do some "as is" testing, get a benchmark on speed/rpm. Some of the mods planned as follows:
    1- Ride plate extension
    2- 6 vane stator
    3- Factory Pipe
    4- Waterbox
5- Come rebuild time- BIG BORE!!!

WOW..that looks like a pretty nice Hurricane. Usually the red plastic pieces fade pretty bad.

Thnx guys, the red plastic just starting to go a bit funny, but been hitting them with tyre shine the last week and its soaking into plastic, starting to bring them back to a nice red again. I had pulled the MFD out years ago because of some problem with it, cant remember what. Anyone know where i can track down a new one? Seem to be obsolete now.

What exactly are you using for this?

My own Hurricane's red plastic is badly faded and I have been hesitating using a heat gun to restore the plastic. If there is a chemical method I am interested!
