01 gpr need help quick with fuel sending unit issue
I just picked up a real clean 01 Gpr 800 for $1200.has a fuel starvation issue so I went through and rebuilt the carbs (mikuni kits)eliminated the on off res. Switch, and pulled the sending unit.I noticed the flapper was warped so I pulled it out but I noticed the reserve tube is pushing against the lower cover almost like it stretched and sits against it.my question is how far up should I cut the line so it gets proper fuel flow because the lower filter is sitting right against it and its bacically blocking it since it doesn't sit on top of the screen

I'd remove the screen and the flapper. Then extend with fuel lines(use OEM or Tygon fuel rated) both the reserve and regular fuel lines so that they will rest against the back and bottom of the gas tank. Fuel clunks on the ends of the fuel line. That is if you pulling fuel from both lines.

You could cut the reserve line at an angle so it doesn't seal against the flapper/screen.

I ended up cutting it 1/4" from it,it looks like it has plenty of clearance and I barely ever run the ski past 1/2 tank and always fill it whenever I go out
