2012 ULTRA LX - cant get speed

my LX has about 13 hrs on it but i noticed this weekend that my while my RPM's are going on the way up on full throttle i cant get past 30-32 MPH......whats the deal? I haven't done the 10 hr service yet because the dealer is 90 mins from the Lake and I'm procrastinating.....any ideas?

Get a gps to check true speed. Change your spark plugs. What's your max rpm.

Sounds like you might have picked some up and stuck in the jet pump. Check to see if you can see anything in there (I assume the ski is home now). Have a really good look. Even the smallest thing between the impeller and pump can cause a problem.

    Did it vibrate also?

I'll pull it onto the trailer and check it out. Theres no vibration and RPM's are in the 7,000+ range....cant recall sucking anything up but you never know.

If you're 7000+ RPM and only 30 MPH I'd say cavitation for sure.

i also jsut bought a ultra lx and mine does 52 at 7440 rpm....with a 150# person in a litle chop ...last nite with me at 195# i only get 51 at 7460rpm... so something has to be wrong...i also just ordered the magnum tuning Evo Tech chip which has some pretty good claims and not so expensive..so i will post results when in....http://www.magnumtuning.com/en/subca...arts-and-chips..

has anybody else looked at or tried these?? thanks jeff

You may have sucked something up into the intake.

Glad to hear it's all good now!
    However....
Your engine couldn't produce over 7,000 rpm, yet only deliver 30 mph boatspeed due to a bad spark plug, not unless the pump also had an issue.

Glad it's working, but these specs don't add up.
