    Type of sealer for crankcase???

    I was wondering what type of form-a-gasket or sealer to use to seal the two halfs of a gp1200r crankcase together.... Any suggestions?

    three bond makes some stuff 1211 i think, yamaha bond, and red gel seal loctight makes but copied by other company's

    Hondabond ht is the exact same thing as threebond 1211 and can be bought at any Honda car dealer

    a little goes a long way. should be able to seal cases over 30 times with one tube.

    ^^^good tip. I made the mistake of overdoing it the first time. the sealer OOZED out everywhere. You want a very thin layer of sealer. Squeeze a small, small bead down on the surface and smear down flat/spread it around with your finger. Thats how I did it.

    Dont use the motoseal stuff. race gas melts it. I use nothing but 1211
