I've seen one before here on the forum, I think it was Kelly-A if memory serves. The main component added was a small 1-2 inch extension on the stock rideplate. This extension increased the handling a bit from what I understand. You could also grind down the mounting bosses on the plate in order to increase the plate angle. IMO there would be a lot of guess work involved if you do it yourself... and you could put yourself at risk if you mess up. I would send it to an expert like Jim.

I think I also remember seeing a thread a long time ago where someone welded skegs on. Must not have been anything great because I nobody else has been doing it.

Not me. The mod I did was to my VX plate. Milled the speedo mounting area to regain the speedo functionality on the VX plate. Worked per my GPS, but not worth the effort since the speedo isn't that accurate to begin with and only goes to 80.

My stock FZ plate has spent the last two years in a box in my garage...

The guy that welded skegs on his ski (Pics by Tango I think his name was) has since been banded from the fourm. I'll see if I can find the right thread.

    Wink

I will have a go at it tomorrow as sold my Riva ride plate and waiting on the farting plate. But in the meantime why not weld two stock FZ ride plates together, reinforce it structurally to make one long plate lol. Will Post some pics of this frankenstein plate
