Question can I trow an 800 engine instead of the original 760 on a wave runner? Help please

I have a 1997 wave runner that needs a new engine. Someone is selling a 1999 wave runner for parts and it comes with an 800 engine on it. Can they be switched? please let me know. I dont know much about PWCs

    Thanks,

Well then yes I think that could easily be done since the later years GPs came with a 800. So it should fit, the only thing I'm not sure about is if the motor mount holes are in the correct spot on a 97 GP hull.
