not a good day for kawi ultra 150 owner

after numerous problems with his recently acquired 2000 Ultra 150, we finely got what seems to be a good day on the SJR, after about 4+ hours on the SBT motor he was talked into buying, it decided on blowing the bottom of the cases out from a failed center rod bearing !!!!!!! ski was running very well, the piston dome and skirt looks perfect except the cracked skirt, plenty of oil in the cylinder and exhaust, just another stroke of bad luck for this poor guy.........

SBT engines are questionable at best, but you sure don't want to put one in an Ultra 150!

i wouldn't have if he had bought the ski to me first, but another shop bent him over and drove it home dry !!!!!!!! all the original motor need was a piston and cylinder, now he's stuck with the SBT till he can unload the ski and buy a four stroke !!!

It looks as though it might have needed a center rod bearing as well

it was a fresh SBT motor that tossed the center rod bearing and knocked a hole in the lower engine case !!!!!! only 4 to 6 hrs on it

They replace so many engines under warranty I really don't see how they can stay in business. I guess those Chinese parts are REALLY cheap.
