R&D SHO steering nozzle vs. Yamaha SHO steering nozzle.......

has anyone seen enough difference in the R&D steering nozzle over the OEM Yamaha steering nozzle that makes it worth a $100. more ??????? i need a steering nozzle for my VXS and spend the extra if its really worth it !!!!! and yes, its for my VXS with VTS trim !!!

The r&d is an inch longer iirc. Or maybe I'm thinking of the exit nozzle. IMO not worth the price difference unless someone has some additional insight. They have one that adjusts as you steer for use with vts. Not sure if that's the one you mean.

If you use a SHO nozzle, you'll just need to punch it out a little to work with your 87mm venturi...92mm should be about right. Otherwise it'll make the steering real twichy & might cost you some rpm.

i'm running a 85mm on it now so it might work just fine since its a SHO/FZ venturie bored out on it now

Try it out & see how you like it first. I usually try to keep my steering nozzle at least 5mm larger than the venturi. The SHO nozzle is oval(87w x 90h).

that should be ok then ?????? BTW the VTS trim on my VXS is great, yamaha doesn't know what they're missing out on by not installing factory trim on these skis

I did not like the sho nozzle till I had it bored out, like Mark said it seemed to make the steering very twitchy. The R&D is longer and will give better turning and helps in the ruff but scrubs a little on top. I prefer the protec 20mm cut to stock length..
