    Where to buy new engine?

It's time for a new GP1200R engine. The last one I used for a replacement I bought from SBT. Wondering
if there is another good source to buy a new or rebuilt engine?

Problem: Cylinder 3 toast and a hole in the bottom of the case. I could do a single cylinder exchange
and have SBT weld the hole in the case but...might as well do the whole damn thing (again)!

Thanks, but I can't weld the hole in the case. By the time I pack it up and ship is somewhere and pay
to get the hole welded, I'm probably already into it for another $400. Don't want to go back to SBT and get
another rebuilt with welded case and who knows what else.

if you like to dick around SBT is for you. I have never dealt with them . I have never heard of their engines fixing anything the first second or third time. not bashing just what haeve heard in face to face convos with some former customers.

A big reason for Sbt failures is people just swapping a motor without fixing the origin of the real problem, then a few hours of riding the new motor pops and they think Sbt did something wrong.first you need to thoroughly determine why it failed.if you call around a few local machine shops, they should be able to refer you to someone good locally about welding the cases.also u should really have the crank inspected by a good machinest or mechanic, cause small debris from the piston getting in the bearings can cause a real nightmare a few hours into your fresh motor.I learned the hard way, overlooked the bearings and 6 or so hours into a rebuilt motor and I had a rod bearing fail.
