    Bog on WOT run...

Had a recent carb rebuild, everythings running great for the first few times I had it out. I was doing a WOT run and the ski fells on it's face. I was running at 7050 and it fell to 6600 out of no where. It runs fine, accelerates fine, all up until about 3/4 throttle. When I go wide open it hits 6800 or so and steadily falls, until I let off. Fuel was down to 1-2 bars so I'm hoping that's all it is. But why would it be fine up to 6800? I haven't had it back out since and my tow vehicle is out of commission at the moment. If it hit 6800 and stayed there I would think power valves, but again it hits 6800 and then falls if I hold the throttle open. I can zip around at 1/2 throttle for instance just fine.

Compression is even across all 3.

Would low fuel alone cause this?

I'm going to tear into the tank if simply refueling doesn't fix it.

    Thanks!

    Bog on WOT run...

Ok, full tank, also ran on reserve. It ran great from the dock, almost to 7k and 58 mph. Them it bogged again, by the time I brought it back in I was at 5800 rpm's and 28 mph at WOT. Any help is really appreciated. I'm out of cash and the seasons running down fast.

When you lose RPM during a wide open run it usually means you are detonating. Check your plugs. The faster your RPM's drop the worse the detonation.

    Will do.

Here's the fuel flapper, not sure what to think on this because the problem is at WOT in the "On" position. Would that cause this? I blew into the feed line (coming from the right side of the filter and I couldn't get any air through. Finally after a few attempts I did manage to get some air through, and now it seems a lot better, I can hear bubbles in the tank. Maybe there was a blockage?

This is the number 2 plug...seems gray, almost like anti seize. The other two plugs are not like this, those are tan.

Time to pull the head and see just how bad the damage is.

That fuel filter looks like it may have some crap in it - time to replace.

Just get rid of the flapper.

Premix? If not check the oil line on #2.

Pull the carbs and check #2.

Running premix. Not sure how this could of happened. What's involved in pulling the head?

I'm out of cash, if there's internal damage it's up for sale.
