    Intercooler Question

I have an RXP-X with 70 hours on it. I ride fresh water and I was wondering if there is any need to take the intercooler out and clean it. I guess a better question would be is there any indication when the boat is running that the intercooler is actually dirty?

I have an 09 RXP-X... Wondering what RPM you get with the mods you have listed in your signature? Is that all you have done to your boat? Are you seeing more then 8200 RPM and if so what speed are you seeing?

    Ripper

To answer your question: I don't know... Sorry

Its not that uncommon to get some oily residue in them, especially if you do not run a catch can. Pull the air inlet hose and see what it looks like.

Troyheb, I was more concerned that the cooling portion of the intercooler might be dirty with stuff picked up from the water, like plant material and the like.

RipnSki, I have now got a 15/20R, an 8650 SDC Reflash and I am turning 8540 - 8560 and have GPS'd at 74.6 on flat water.

That is definately possible if you dont run a strainer. You could take the cool out and hook it to a garden hose.

I would pull it out and back flush it if you don't run some sort of strainer.
