Towing a boat with a Waverunner

Anyone ever had to tow a boat with your Waverunner? I've been wondering if its a feasible idea. My friend has a 22 foot Tritoon pontoon boat I'm worried what would happen it the battery died or something else disabled it and I'd be asked to tow him back to the dock.
Is the tow hook strong enough or would it get riped right out of the hull?

You can pull it at fast idle safety if needed

I pulled 6 boats at once with my 650 standup (going about 1/10 mph)

I gotta ask-why were you pulling 6 boats at once? That would have been quite a site.

No problem just idle and blip the throttle once in a while

We where all at the hydro races and had 6 boats tied up and current pulled us into the "no boat zone" so I had to pull the group of boats back out probably 60 yards about 10 times

I've done a couple of tows for boats and skis. Go slow and use a good rope. The tow hook is strong enough for even fairly heavy boats as long as you go slow........basically no wake speed. The first time I towed a boat, I used a rope the guy had on the boat. I'm guessing it was an old dock line. It snapped and flew back at the boat after about 5 minutes. If someone had been sitting in the bow, it could have put an eye out or caused some other injury.

Other thing is that I found out in my state its required for all the people on the boat to wear a life jacket when the boat is under tow. I was trying to do a good deed, and the boat cops were about to write me a ticket........fortunately the guy was reasonable and didn't. Other thing to know is that once you accept a tow you become responsible as "captain" for the passengers on your and the other vessel...........something to think about.
