NEED HELP - Aftermarket driveshaft bearing carrier that replaces C clip

My buddy has the following setup on his ski (dont know if its the same exact brand - could be seadoo centre also)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...vip=true&rt=nc

anyone know the part number for the bearing that it uses?

I personally have used that seal and i will tell you unless you want to sink your boat stay away from that seal...Everybody i know that has used that seal has sunk thier ski..The bearing, which is Rockwell hardened is alot harder than what the driveshaft is and will eventually eat into the driveshaft pulling the carrier off filling your ski up with water faster than you cand say"Oh Shit"

that's a step back about ten years before seadoo adopted the carbon(e) seal system. Granted the current setup can be a bit painful at times to service, buying 8 gallons of walmart oil and spending a few hours sweating possible damage from water ingestion ( assuming you make i back to shore) I'd most certainly take a pass on this one too!

He has had a problem in the past where his c clip keeps popping off and he sunk the ski once and about 3 other times where he was able to make it back just in time

He has used the bearing for a while with success. when the bearing gave out he couldnt find a replacement, so he went back to the c clip about a month ago.

    Yesterday he sunk...

Sounds like his drive shaft is out of spec. The groove is too groovy now.

the original driveshaft his ski came with used the original c-clip method. then he machined it for the aftermarket bearing set up and was happy for a while until the bearings went out.

when the bearing set up went bad, he purchased a complete driveshaft/carbon seal setup which is what he sunk yesterday
