    Installing R&D grate on fzr

So long story short I want to get the grate on ASAP so I don't get bucked... Do I need to seal it? This winter I will do the ppk but simply don't have time for it now.

Thanks also I see rd still is saving trees by not sending instructions??

Yes, you can bolt it up as is for now and then later go back and do the seal and PPK. Look at the riva directions, its the same process. http://www.rivaracing.com/instructions/ry22050_1.pdf

I used red lock tite on mine because it's not something you'll be taking off very often. I use blue on my ride plate because I swap back and forth. You can run it without the PPK.

I don't have any sealant on our grates.
We just use a small amount of blue locktite on the bolts, I like to be able to EASILY remove that grate with hand tools because we sometimes find ourselves having to take the grates off to remove weeds, cypress chips and other debris that gets sucked into the pump -- otherwise we would be stuck on the river for hours.

So I guess any type of "seal" would be okay as long as it's easy for me to get off with that 800 pound ski propped up on the side of the river when it's getting dark and the gators are coming out...

Its best to seal it to get the best performance, but not required. When you get a chance you should seal it properly though!

Just put the PPK in while you have it off. It doesn't take that much more effort. It's certainly less than doing the entire job again to install the PPK later.

That's what I assumed. None of my previous skis where sealed and I thought it was odd that riva said to seal it.

I would if I had ordered it at the same time . The ppk appears to be much different than my gpr was
