    98 gp800 won't start possiable electrical issue?

    I have a 98 gp800 i am having problems with.
Just put a new sbt engine in it
riding the ski approx 20-30 min running fine
ski then just shots off like ignition is killed
checked for spark had no spark and gauges will not come up when cranked
checked lanyard switch start and stop switch all working properly.
ski will crank no issues but hane no spark and gauges.
Changed CDI module with brand new oem module and still the same
if i go into the security feature to lock and unlock ski gauges work.

    any ideas?

    98 gp800 won't start possiable electrical issue?

I would test the start/stop switch. I don't know why it would go bad all of a sudden but I had the same symptoms and it was due to a bad start/stop switch.
