co2 jetski inflation - sinking feeling saver?

Has anyone ever tried using something like a co2 PFD inflation type device to try save their ski from a sinking?

I'm guessing the displacement of a PFD might be around 30 lt, so 30kg buoyancy (Sorry ~62 lbs?)
Would this be anywhere near enough to save say to keep the rear of the hull at water level ?

I've always thought about making something similar that attaches to the rear of the ski and has like a pull cord for inflation...

Could something like this work or would it be a total waste of time?
Maybe an idea for a manufacturer to make a rear bar with an inbuilt device?

Its probably my greatest worry out in the ocean... Probably 1/5th of the guys I know with skis have had one sink...

I have a patent application in for a sponson with an inflatable bladder....I can sell you the rights for it for .02c(US)..only problem is the sponson uses a toyota corolla airbag and those cost $800US (each)

Wouldn't that be a bit too explosive? Sponsons would be a good position for something like that though!
