How many hours should you go on your SC until rebuild?

Its a 2010 255hp, I know the manual says 100h, but the dealer guy told me to use it until the SC fails, he said that they have seen engines go up to 150h or more on this SC and that there was no use in wasting 50h extra or what ever hours I could get out of it past the 100h mark.

But then I heard someone saying that if the SC fails it can destroy you engine, is this true? because someone else told me that it was the case with older SC models but it wont happen with the new SCs. What can you tell me about this, is it ok to keep going with the SC past the 100h? is there any risk?

    Thanks allot!

Your dealer is a Dickhead the supercharger needs to be rebuilt at 100 hrs personally I ride choppy water and do mine at 75 hrs. But yes if it fails it could screw your engine

+100. If the SC fails, it's not just the SC you're replacing - likely your looking at $3K plus in repairs to the engine/internals. A regular SC rebuild is cheap and is also insurance policy when compared to the alternative. Personally, I have mine rebuilt every 125 hrs. but I ride glass 90% of the time. I think I heard the latest models are now saying 200 hrs before rebuild service, but IDK about that, nor would I go that long - well, not on my 06s

My first stock charger blew at less then 75 hours and I didn't ride hard. Now that I am modified I pull it out every 20 - 25 to check it. Don't mess with it be safe.

I pull it and check the bearings and slip every season. I do not have a time table as far as hours.
