Weird Line in RXP-x 2012 Manual about engine overheats re: quick connect adapter/flus

I was reading my manual for my rxp-x and i found it weird that on page 113 under the troubleshooting section, under "Engine Overheats" there is a line that says:

    3) Quick connect adapter left in flushing connector:
    - Remove adapter from flushing connector and retry watercraft. If problem persists, refer to an authorized Sea-Doo dealer.

On my rxp-x i leave the quick hose connector adapter i got from loews screwed into the threads of the engine flush "port" on the back of the watercraft. I do this just for convenience so i can quickly plug in a hose.

but can leaving this quick connector adaptor in lead to engine over heating?

any input on this weird line from the manual or am i reading it wrong?

    tks

some connector might reduce flow because of check valves etc. I have a brass one from lowes installed for 60 hrs and run in FL and have had no problems.

Quick connectors have 2 sides, the male side and the female side, the female side is usually not free flowing and shuts off when you unplug the male conterpart,
But I have seen some that have the male side that also shuts off, that intake needs to be free flowing to cool properly,
