    what to buy

Hi,i am new to the watercrafts, not new to some brp products, have had numerous ski-doo snowmobiles and am familiar with the 2 strokes and 4 strokes, question is ,i am looking at buying my first sea-doo and just want something reliable,i don't mind tinkering or playing with carbs etc. etc.,which 2 strokes are fairly reliable or should i just go 4 stroke, don't think i want to go supercharged, but do want to go say around 50 mph,and probabaly leave it mostly stock, looking at around late 90's or early to mid 2000's what should i buy. thanks. Gary

Just remember that you are on the 4tec forum so you probably will not get alot of sympathy or support for going with a 2 stroke here. That being said, BRP (and most all watercraft manufacturers) have phased out production of 2 stroke products. In terms of overall reliability, the 4tecs are a quantum leap over the older 2 strokes, but, that does not mean that a good used 951 or 787 powered ski could be a good value. In terms of performance, unless you are willing to deal with a highly modified ski, the 2 strokes jusy aren't going to keep up with the 4tecs.
I have both (2 stroke and 4tec) and I love them both, but, for different reasons.
    Good Luck with your decision.
