    Supercharger 100hour rebuild

    Hey,

I have recently purchased a seadoo rxp 2007/08 jetski, the previous owner had owned the ski for about 15-20 hours and its just hit 100 hours now. I took the supercharger out yesterday and noticed that it has the gold metal washers, the bearings and spline all looks in fantastic condition and the spacer washers are nice and close together (no shaft play etc either). I have seen some photos of chargers before they have been rebuilt on that site and mine looks in much better condition.

Would you recommend rebuilding it or leaving it for now since the driveline appears to be good?

    Thanks for your help

Do what the service recommendation is...
    Rebuild every 100 hours...

$300 gamble vs. $3000 rebuild and performance loss.

Correct, just cause the gear assembly looks OK doesnt mean the rest of the charger is...The bearings in these chargers also need replacing at 100 hours not just the clutch assembly....

    Guys:

I have over 340 hours on my 04' RXP. I use it on the lakes of Minnesota, all fresh water. Had Jerry put in steel washers back several years ago. Never rebuilt the charger after that. YOu have me thinking that I might take the charger off after the season is over (Next few weeks) and send it off to him for a rebuild. Does he still do rebuilds?

I had 140hrs on my 09 gtx I.S. 255 and had my charger rebuilt and my mechanic said it really didn't need it.
I rode it at 8k rpm 80-90% of its life...
    Life at WOT.....
