    Bolt head snapped

    Hey guys,

Noticed the other day one of the bolts that holds the Venturi to the pump had its head snapped off. I've tried everything to get it out of the pump... Vice grips, channel locks and nothing will spin it.

    Any ideas? Thanks.

You are going to need to heat up the area around the bolt and it should back out.

Yea you should also spray it with lube and tap it with a hammer to break up the corrosion.

You could dremel a slot into it for a flat-head screwdriver...but heat will help even with that done.

    Bolt head snapped

Is a propane torch hot enough for this?

Yes give it a go with a blow lamp, try just a little heat first, maybe 20 / 30 seconds heat with the blow lamp, moving the flame around lots and then try cracking it off with a really good pair of mole grips on the remaining thread really tight.

If you can't get a good tight grip with a large pair of vice grips, try a stud remover with a large socket wrench-----like this one---

If you have access to a welder thread a nut onto the stud then weld it on, the heat from welding also helps removal.
