    Engine Tech SC cooler

Tested the cooler today on my conversion ski. Air temps were around 90 and water was a cool 87 thanks to the rain yesterday. Put everything together in shop and was set up to test cooler first and then shut off valve to test again. Charger is 2 Rude, cooler has 3/8" feed line with adjustable valve and exit has 1/2" straight overboard dump.

First test with cooler showed AITs around 96-98 at WOT and would quickly cool down to 93 off throttle or cruising. Rpm 9180-9200. Also installed adjustable valve and had to slow water down to reach this cool of an AIT and was noticable. Exit water was warm but not hot.

Second test was with valve shut the AITs climbed to 100-103 which suprised me, also did not cool back down as fast. RPM was a solid 9200 and never dropped below at WOT. Charger overall outside temp was about 25-30 degrees cooler.

Both runs were close to 93mph both ways.

When shutting the water off on the first test I noticed about 2 gallons of water in the hull and could see it coming out of bottom side of charger. This was after 4 miles of warm up and then several hits. Ski was dry from an entire day of riding Saturday and do not have versa plugs or siphon bidge in this ski. Bildge pump removed most of it and there was no more after shutting the valve off.

Couldn't see a performance gain but AITs def went down 5 degrees and charger was much cooler as was the outlet pipe.

Couple other things to note is that the supplied bolts were too long but fine after we added SS washers with Neoprene washer attached. This greatly helped the leaks around the bolts.

It was also suggested by the maker to run full line pressure off the pump but I was able to get lower AITs by slowing the water down.

Duke great info, thanks I have one here to install with Ray. So everyone needs to make note of watching the water to the SCer as you can have a leak and need to check fitment. Just be carefull not to put it on without checking for leaks. Thanks a bunch for the test.

Thanks for sharing the test results.
To bad there are no noticeable performance gains.
Nice that the charger runs cooler, but this has no effect on the top speed.

You'll probably need to add a washer to the supplied bolts due to the bottoming out, we used SS with a neoprene to help stop the leaks around the bolts. Also point the inlet fitting towards bottom of ski, this made it easier to route hose. Hacksaw worked best on cutting rubber 4" adapter due to the bandsaw heating it up and melting. Getting rear air or hose in between fittings is very tight as well.

Thanks! I try to share results of everything tested but can be slow getting to it sometimes.
