Oil Ligt & Limp Mode
OK, here is an odd one. Another '03 GTX SC (I guess it is time for them to start acting up). The ski runs great. Accelerates as expected and reaches 64-65 mph with no problem. It will sustain these speeds as long as I keep the throttle pinned... BUT, lift off the throttle to decelerate and the ski throws up the oil light and immediately goes into limp mode. If I let the ski settle, push the stop button, and restart, all is good and it will accelerate perfectly and easily attain 64-65 mph. Decelerate, and here comes the light and limp mode. I've changed the TOPS mercury switch, the TOPS valve, and EVERY other sensor (except the waterbox exhaust temp sensor). Anyone else ever experience this?
Frustrating... I think I finally found a ski that has stumped me beyound sanity!
Jeff

oil pump check valve is the likely suspect here at speed it opens to keep oil pressure correct but it's not closing quickly enough when you let off the throttle so the oil pressure drops below the minimum.
What you need to worry about is the supercharger washers.....
I'd sacrifice the oil filter for dissection to see if there is any debris in there before you end up throwing a rod..

Jeff, this is specifically mentioned in the BRP engine manual IIRC ... but I don't have my manual anywhere close to me. If you could locate a manual, or someone could look this up for you ... I remember this being described in my 2005 manual relating to the oil system, but do not remember the fix needed.
