2013 boats have cats?

I have my heart set on getting a '13 boat so I've been anxiously waiting to hear about what's gonna be new this year. To my disappointment the only thing I've heard and seen so far is the new catalytic converter that will be on all the boats.

I'm not real thrilled about the prospect of another part that could be relatively susceptible to corrosion. They claim the cats get you 5% better fuel economy, (but I think the new economy is due to the addition of an oxygen sensor which makes the ECU a little more closed loop), not as a result of catalytic converters.

Does anyone have any experience with cats in a marine app or opinions?

Cats only work when they are hot and burn off the excess unburnt fuel. How hot is this babe going to be. I take it it will be in the engine compartment which is dam hot already.
Time to start looking for a 2012 left over boat.
