    Warning about R&D intake grate.

    Anyone running a R&D intake grate on there 300x should inspect there's for cracks in and around all the mounting bosses. I had mine off for a project in working on and was about to reinstall mine and Saw all of the cracking going on. There is cracks in and around all 4 of the rear mounting bosses inspect yours so you don't wind up with a catastrophic failure Click image for larger version.

    Wow...we had that problem with the GPR grates from R-D, when they broke at speed, you got thrown off the ski. Several here on GH got hurt....

    This seems to getting more and more common with the stuff R&D are producing for any brand of ski.
    These things have been cracking since the 07 250 days.

    The fit to the shoe Is just crap and the stresses just are not even as u tighten them up.
    And the time it takes to fit it correctly is a joke considering we pay good money for these products

    Yea. Crap and dangerous if it breaks I contacted R&D they said they have not herd of one cracking but don't expect them to tell me if they did. I have to send it back to them. Inside of one of the bosses it's actuall pulling appart looks like a laminated piece of wood failing craziest shit I ever seen.

    Noticed the aluminum casting was lousy too..mentioned it in an earlier thread how I had to slightly file the back of the grate on the sides to match the shoe..a slight step up from grate to shoe is fine and normal...but seemed like a bit much...

    Mine fit flush no issues with that. This grate has about 70 hrs of use. Back to stock I go. Or maybe Tbm.

    Several people here on GH contacted R-D about people getting hurt because of their shit intake grate for the GPR...they just blew everybody off.

    The Riva grate I have looks much better than that R-D.....hope it holds up....

    I believe it. Think i may be switching to Tbm and try that one out.

    how are the TBM and FARTHING ride plates compared to the R&D?

    thats pretty scary mate ill be checking mine also
