It appears the shaft was spinning inside the race. Do they still spin freely?

The bearings still feel extremely smooth and could be used again had they not spun on the crank (hint). No the crank didn't lock up nor was there an apparent overheat condition.

I have a few questions. what oil did you run in that engine? did it ever overheat? did you ever loose a top end? is this a oil injected boat or premix? what rpm are you turning the engine? if premix what ratio are you using? please fill in the blanks.

My guess would be an inferior oil at too lean of an oil mixture at too high of an rpm.
(Of course, you haven't given us much to work with you big tease!!! )

Looks like they ran used 10-40 in it and left it sit for a long time!!!

how easy did the bearing come off of the shaft? was it supposed to be pressed fit on it?..
i've taken a 3 month course diagnosing some bearings so i could probably help

Ohhh, just clean them bad boys off, and stick it back together.

O.K. a little more informtion.
Oil, not 100% sure yet
It did NOT overheat
There was NO top end loss
The pre-mix was at 40:1
She was running at roughly 6700RPM
And she used pump gas at 140 in each cylinder

I'm guessing they were from an SBT crank and just plain SUCK
