    2012 Seadoo engine reliability

I am looking at trading my 2006 Challenger 180 in on a 2012 challenger 210. The 2006 has served me very well aside from having to upgrade the SC and 08 oiler mod before I had problems, but I want more space.

I have been reading about timing chain failures, leaking external intercoolers, dropping valves, etc.

Is BRP cheaping out now to the point that I am better off keeping what I have or are they reliable? All opinions welcome....

The only thing I would have any concerns about on a 2012 would be the IC. Seadoo went to smaller cooler a few years ago and there has been a few reports of them leaking.

So the cam chain and such have been upgraded and are no longer a concern?

Cam chain was remedied in late model 2011s and there was a recall done on the affected ones.

There have been numerous updates done to the 4tec since 2006, they are better now then ever

I put my 2012 rxp through absolute hell, checked compression at 40 hours and they are all within 2 psi. And I rev mine much higher than stock. Nothing beats a seadoo if you ask me

    Your kind isn't welcomed here!

But seriously I wouldn't trade my Sea Doo for any other ski...except another Sea Doo.
