    OIL H light... 07 250x

    Well i just got towed in from the water because my 07 ultra 250x came up with the OILH alarm out of no where.

    Engine oil looks good but has a bit gas smell to it like normal ... oil had less the ten hours on it...


    I was getting water out the cooling port on deck... so i don't think I was starving of cooling water.

    I let it cool off but etc .. and tried to see if I turn the engine over but I am having no luck. ( I didn't to hard cause I didn't want to mess up the starter as well. )

    I am hoping that the engine did not seize.

    The ski was running fine before this happened...

    Looking for a place to start trouble shooting ... any ideas?

    Most likely jet pump went out and your motors toast. Pull your pump and check also check crank float end play and if you open oil cap look for little pieces of black or metal sitting on top of little oil collection area.

    just check oil cap and no black or metal shavings.

    Not the cap. Start motor give it couple revs then tap cap off look straigh down just to the side you will see a spot oil collects. Look for stuff there. Pull pump check condition. Unless you have no cooling and oil over heated you most likely toasted a motor.

    I tried to turn the engine over, and start the motor but was unable... pretty sure the motor got toasted... (FML) Ill checking things out as i go on.. the super charge and the pump shaft spin with the starting motor but I'm not getting any compression..

    Did you pull the spark plugs ? Did you pull the pump yet ?

    no and no... ill head down and pull the plugs now... and see what i can see... I don't the space to pull the pump as of right .. renting a house with no garage ...

    Pulling the pump is simple all you need is a 14mm socket and a screw driver if u did not pull plugs how I know there's no compression ?

    Ever case of OILH I've seen has been a spun main bearing. Open up oil filter....is it full of yellow and silver specks? The yellow is the thrust bearing and the silver is the rod and main bearings, plus pieces of the case where the crank has been rubbing. Good luck....

    So far I havent been able to much with the ski, had to work etc.... I was able to get the ski running on the hose the other night and it seemed okay... but I will start breaking it down this week to see what i find by thursday....
