Pad under winch strap is destroyed, need to replace. See pics...
The pad under the winch strap was shitty since day one but now has finally been completely destroyed. Now the strap rubs on bare steel that is rough and sharp. Where can I get a replacement for this piece? Here's pics...

Are you pulling your ski onto the trailer with the nylon loop on the winch strap and not the metal hook???
Take a piece of rubber fuel line and split it then glue it on. Or take the worn piece to a good hardware store and they should have it. It's actually flexible edging that is used to go over a metal edge or hole.

I don't think I'd trust my ski to that nylon strap. My RXT has a plastic covered eye hook and I haven't scratched it yet. I actually thought of adding a chain and hook as a backup in case it ever broke the winch strap.

I'm pretty sure that strap is designed to hold the ski but regardless you should have a backup chain like you said. I didn't do it yet but I'm planning on it.

I always use the strap. It's what it's there for. My hook probably wouldn't even fit on my skis bow hook. If it did, it would destroy the paint.
I was use safety chains as well. IMO they are a must.

So I just measured the width of metal that the pad covers and it is about 3.5mm wide. This seems like something I would find on eBay so I'm going to look for some edge trim there.

That's exactly it. You can squeeze the end together if it's too loose.
A good hardware or sheet metal shop should also have it.
Thanks for the tip on the winch strap, I'm going to give it a try this weekend. guess that's why replacement straps have designations of boat or pwc.
