a multitude of things cause that, Is the ski carb'd or di?

Either way I would be running premix.
You never know if that oil pump is going to crap out or a oil line come loose.

funny thing about that piston is there is no damage to the rings or piston dome from what can be seen in the picture..
So my guess other then excessive cylinder wear - would be water injestion
If it injested something from the bottom end it would be more on top of the piston and a seizure would have melted a piston and smeared the rings..

What caused this?
Sorry it took so long, its a 2000 seadoo rx. The ski did have a exhaust leak at the manifold which was putting water right in the air box.

It looks like lack of oil to me...had the same look on a Polaris MSX 160 piston.
