Post Kinda cool or blasphemy? Adding reverse on a GPR

So Im building a GPRxp with help from friends and Greenhulk forums and feel like my ski idles at too fast of speed for local enforcement who will give you a wake ticket in a second. ( Already had 1)

I posted this in my build thread, but wanted to get opinion of other GPR owners. Kinda cool or blasphemy to add reverse to a GPR?

He said , "its blasphemy, but if you want, I'll come over and install a reverse on it for you to just to stop your whining. Haha I may start whining about having a supercharger on it so he will shut me up and install a turbo if this reverse works out.

So here are some pics of his progress so far. I think it will be very nice to have reverse on this ski and don't care if its "uncool" What do you guys think?

It's very cool if you got it to work. I know a lot of guys wanting to do this but I think most gave up on it.

It worked out really well.... for awhile. We used a solenoid and bell crank so didn't have to run any pull handles/cables/etc. I backed off the trailer with reverse, maneuvered around the dock up and off the trailer a few times , was pleased with it. I def needed to do some trimming on the bucket as had some spray at speed that was telling that it was catching water. I just pressed a button and solonoid dropped bucket and would back up pretty cool.

The party ended while showing off. Idling about 5 mph, hit the button it stopped , goosed the throttle to back up quickly and blew the bucket off the back Evidently a 15 yr old 1997 seadoo 701 GTS bucket isn't up to the task of handling thrust of a GPR . It was all built with crap out of the garage so no cost. Kinda entertaining way to spend the afternoon. Meh, nothing ventured right?

If anything you could just cut it down and use it as a brake to slow it down in no wake zones

I could use it most when docking, that can get a little squirrely at times.
