Can Anyone fix my round 1994 Polaris MFD

hello, I have a round polaris MFD off my 1994 Polaris SL 750 ski. The MFD was working fine then all of a sudden it spazzed out and the screen only read "8". No faded numbers or anything just the number 8. When I hit mode or set nothing happens just the number 8. I figured maybe it was a short in the wire or something with the fuse so I changed the fuse and still the same thing. I have a spare MFD that I threw on and it works fine. I dont want to scrap this MFD because I think it might be able to be saved. Anyone out there knowledgeable with these things who might want to take a look at it? Obviously Im willing to pay for your work if you can get it working. So, if anyone wants to give me a hand and take on a small project let me know. Thanks!

BlueFishCrisis is a member on here. IIRC he is pretty good with MFD repairs and such. If you PM him he will probably be able to help you out, but then again, sometimes he can be a putz.

    Good luck

You could try doing an MFD 'reset'.

This is sometimes necessary with the oval displays, but it might work for the round style too.

Procedure is outlined via my signature links.

The reset procedure does work on the round ones as well.

I'llbe happy to look at it for you. I do have some spare parts and it is a good chance we can get it back into operation.
PM me if you are interested.
