    Turbo FZ breaking up at wot

    Hey everyone, After going to the lake 15 times over the last two days I am stumped as to what this could be. I have a turbo FZ which was running perfectly. From one day to the next it started breaking up at wide open throttle. After hours of testing I have noticed the problem only happens above 15 psi of boost or 8000ish rpm. If I "cruise" at 3/4 throttle it is perfect. AFR's are fine even when its breaking up.

    The ski has a Motec. It previously ran 18 psi boost all day long.

    I have changed the Motec harness, the rectifier, the injectors, the coils, the spark plugs, and reduced the spark plug gap from .034 to.029.
    The only other things I can think of are the stator, pickup coil, or a break in the harness or connection somewhere.
    Yes I have checked the Motec map and everything is the same as always.

    Tomorrow I am going to remove the Motec, injectors, and aftermarket map sensor; and replace them with my original reflashed computer, injectors, and stock map sensor. If the problem goes away then it is obviously one of those three things, and if it doesn't I am left with the before mentioned stator, pickup coil, or harness/connector issue.

    If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.

    How is your fuel pressure holding up under those conditions??

    Sorry, I failed to mention. Fuel pressure is perfect, tps is reading accurately.

    I'm going to check the pickup coil resistance in the morning to see if it checks out ok.

    If it does, I am going to do the ecu/injector/map sensor swap to make sure the issue is not Motec related.

    I would leave the motec in, as it will not effect the why it is running, if anything the data will help. Leave the 3 Bar map senor inn.

    * Check you waste gate VAC line, wastegate may not be opening open load.
    * How old are the plugs & what Injectors do you run?
    * Did you replace all 4 coil packs?

    Before this problem, what Boost/rpm where you running?

    u could be loosing voltige top end, and having a weak spark

    Was it only happening on the top end ?

    Yes I checked the wastegate operation and all vac lines. ( btw I raised and lowered the boost and when I go under 15 psi its fine, i'm guessing its because I am not reaching 8000 rpm.)

    I replaced the spark plugs, and tried a smaller gap out of frustration!

    I run ID2000 injectors, I also swapped them with no change.

    Yes I swapped all 4 coil packs.

    Before this problem the ski would run 18 psi all day on pump gas at 8300 rpm and 9000 on e85 and 24 psi boost.

    Waterholics:

    Yes the problem is only happening at wot at top end.


    BTW:
    I just checked the pickup coil resistance and it is fine.

    I'm running out of things to check!!! This is really frustrating. Only things left, I think, are wire harness, ecu, and map sensor (which is working fine as observed from the motec) .
